Sustainable Craft: How We Minimize Waste in Axe Production and Shipping
We believe that true craftsmanship goes hand in hand with responsibility – not just to tradition, but to the environment. As a company rooted in handmade artistry, we’ve taken real steps to reduce waste and move toward more sustainable practices in both our production and packaging.
Thoughtfully Designed Packaging
One of our biggest upgrades was rethinking the shape and structure of our shipping boxes. Instead of relying on extra padding or plastic film, we’ve redesigned many of our boxes to include precise cutouts that cradle each axe securely. This allows us to reduce the use of plastic wrap while still offering reliable protection during transit.
Plastic-Free Where It Matters
We’ve also said goodbye to plastic tape. Now, every B2B and retail package is sealed using high-quality, paper-based tape. It’s just as strong – but far more environmentally friendly. Small changes like this add up, especially when shipping hundreds of items around the world.
Natural Materials,
Inside and Out
Our axes and hammers are forged using premium, natural materials – including real hardwoods like ash, oak, and walnut, as well as high-carbon steel. For finishing, we use natural oils instead of synthetic varnishes, allowing the wood to breathe while extending its life.
Looking Forward
Sustainability is not a checkbox – it's a journey. We're constantly exploring new ways to reduce our environmental footprint, whether through material sourcing, workshop practices, or shipping decisions. We hope to implement even more eco-conscious improvements as we grow.
Because in our view, a handcrafted axe should leave a lasting impression – not a lasting footprint.
